West London Youth Employment Roadmap
A partnership initiative from Youth Careers Collective, West London Alliance, West London Business and West London Careers Hub
Engaging with young people by sharing your professional experience and workplace insight helps students explore career pathways while future-proofing your business.

Our Shared Vision
To achieve this, the Roadmap sets out a clear, actionable, and coordinated path to meaningfully reduce youth unemployment and social exclusion among young people in our boroughs, and to strengthen the conditions that enable them to thrive.

How does it help?
Developing a progressive careers programme shaped and driven by a strategic careers plan enables your students to make well informed decisions about education, training, apprenticeship and employment opportunities and supports them to cope with challenging labour market conditions.
The Roadmap aims to:
Provide an accessible framework and support mechanisms for organisations, across sectors, to positively contribute towards achieving the shared goal of reducing youth unemployment
Establish a common language and a shared understanding of what works
Establish and collating achievable collective short and long-term goals
Encourage and support cross-sector collaboration to reduce duplication and competition
A Collaborative Approach
Informed entirely through testimonials from local representatives, cross-sector organisations, and young people, the hope for the Roadmap is for it to become a tool for employers, educators, third sector, and local government, to work together in supporting young people, furthest from the labour market, into employment, empowering stakeholders to proactively and significantly reduce youth unemployment in the long term, and to therefore boost productivity and growth across West London and beyond.
In short, the Roadmap provides all stakeholders and our partners with key actions to take, in the immediate and long-term, in order to support more young people, especially those experiencing barriers to entering work, into positive destinations locally.
