About West London Careers Hub

West London Careers Hub is a programme co-funded by the Mayor of London and The Careers & Enterprise Company, and delivered by Education Development Trust. The Hub forms part of a national initiative to promote industry engagement and develop high-quality careers education that meets the Gatsby Benchmarks and strengthens career programmes within education institutions.

Our Approach

We work through three core pillars to transform the landscape of careers education across West London.



Supporting Schools and Colleges Across West London

West London Careers Hub currently works with 177 secondary schools and colleges, including SEND and Alternative Provision institutions. The programme supports these institutions in achieving the Gatsby Benchmarks, helping to enhance educational outcomes for young people across the seven West London Boroughs.



Working With Employers and Local Organisations

We collaborate with local businesses and partner organisations to provide young people with meaningful guidance, essential skills, and real-world experiences. These partnerships help young people make informed career choices and better understand the opportunities available to them.



Our Mission and Objectives

Our objective is to close the gap between young people and employers by providing educators and learners with insight into current industry skills gaps, improving social mobility, identifying future talent, and enhancing access to opportunities for young people transitioning from education into employment.



How the Programme Is Delivered

The programme is delivered by our team of Enterprise Coordinators and Hub Leads, who support schools and colleges to engage effectively with employers. This work is delivered through the Enterprise Adviser Network and Cornerstone Employers, creating sustainable links between education and industry.
