SUMMARY:Year 9 Experiences of Work -Insight Visit to Employer
DESCRIPTION:Queens Park Community School (QPCS).\nWe are currently organising a series of industry visits for our Year 9 students\, designed to give them first-hand exposure to a variety of career sectors that reflect their interests and aspirations. These visits aim to inspire students\, broaden their understanding of the world of work\, and provide valuable insight into the diverse range of roles within each industry. We hope this experience will encourage them to begin exploring future career pathways and make informed decisions about their next steps.\nWe would be delighted if your organisation could host a group of approximately 30 Year 9 students. During the visit\, it would be fantastic for students to meet professionals from across your organisation\, gain insight into what a typical working day looks like\, learn about the key skills and qualifications required\, and discover the wide variety of roles that contribute to the success of your organisation.\nIn terms of timings\, we anticipate leaving school at 9:30am\, arriving at your premises between 10:30am and 11:00am\, and departing at approximately 2:30pm to ensure students return to school before the end of the day. Therefore\, this will be approx a 3-hour encounter with a 1-hour lunch break.\nIf this is something you would be interested in supporting\, I would be delighted to discuss the visit further and answer any questions you may have.

SUMMARY:Mock Interviews – Year 10 @ St Claudine’s Catholic School for Girls\, Harlesden
DESCRIPTION:We are a girls school and have a wonderful community with spirited students\, but many of them will benefit massively from speaking to professionals and reflecting on their own presentation skills.\nWe use out main hall with desks for up to 15 delegates to meet students one-one. Students will have had a preparation in their RSHE class in the previous week and come out of their lesson for an interview. If time allows\, it is useful for students to receive feedback immediately after the interview. We then ask students to reflect and record their learning on the Unifrog platform.\nWe have 170 students in Y10\, including many EAL students who are still developing their English (common languages spoken are Arabic\, Portuguese and Gujarati\, but many others). SUMMARY:Speed Networking – Years 8&9 @ St Claudine’s Catholic School for Girls\, Harlseden
DESCRIPTION:We have run a similar event but not for several years\, we want our students to have some real exposure to a variety of careers. Students are engaging and year 8 and 9 are more forthcoming in small groups. We will run a prep lesson in RSHE the previous week.\nWe want to run this as a ‘standing’ network in our school hall. We have 120 students in Y9 and 100 in Y8 and would invite them in groups of 4 to meet delegates for 5 minutes and be in the hall for approximately 25 minutes; before the next group arrived.
